Suicide Prevention & Early Intervention Courses for Sports Medicine Departments
Do you want to better understand dynamics of athlete mental health, athletic trainer well-being, and build skills to have effective conversations about mental health? We offer 3 courses (with BOC CEU credits) to organizations and departments to help you build these skills.
Our instructors have experience within the sport ecosystem and understand the mental health landscape within sport.
We offer MHFA courses for Youth (7 BOC CEU credits) and Adults (8 BOC CEU credits). This is a skills-based training course that teaches skills to identify, address, and refer people experiencing substance use and mental health concerns.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is the most widely taught suicide prevention gatekeeper training in the world. This 2.0 to 2.5 hour course discusses well-being within athletic training and teaches the QPR strategy.

Psychologists
Assessment and Therapy Associates, PLLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks, PLLC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Athletic Trainers
These programs have been planned and implemented in accordance with the requirements and policies of the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) through the joint sponsorship of Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks, PLLC, and Haugen Performance Consulting, PLLC. Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks is approved by the BOC to provide continuing education for athletic trainers.
ND Social Workers
ATAGF is approved by the North Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners (NDBSWE) to sponsor continuing education for social workers in North Dakota (approval through 8/21/23, provider #P-217).
