Abstract:

Ever wonder how professionals with seemingly genuine and appropriate behavior find themselves in sticky situations? Join us for an evidence-based exploration with a new perspective on ethics. In this era of change and digital connectedness, things are not always as they seem. With the value of hindsight, we practice strategies that when used in real-life adventures can assist the professional in maintaining ethically aware practice protocols. This is an intermediate level workshop that expands upon our popular Ethical Clairvoyance workshop by addressing ways in which social identity and culture apply to ethical decision making. This workshop is appropriate for all licensed professionals interested in leveling up their ethics game with 20/20 insight.

Objectives:

  1. List unique contributions of ethics and law/jurisprudence related to professional practice and risk management.
  2. Outline personal, patient/consumer, and systemic factors that influence ethical decision making throughout a professional career.
  3. Examine the role of professional boundaries in ethical decision making.
  4. Identify ways in which aspects of social identity and culture interact with ethical decision making.
  5. List five (5) components of the Primary Risk Management Model (PRMM).
