Psychology of Sport Injury: Science and Practice
Course Schedule (specific time spacing subject to vary)
5 minutes: Course overview
40 minutes: Models of sport injury (including Integrated Model of Psychological Response to Sport Injury)
45 minutes: Stages of injury recovery + psychological responses (discussion of stages of injury recovery; common emotions, cognitions, and behaviors during each stage; tools and strategies you can use)
Break = 15 minutes (no CE/CEU credits)
35 minutes: Stages of injury recovery + psychological responses (discussion of stages of injury recovery; common emotions, cognitions, and behaviors during each stage; tools and strategies you can use)
40 minutes: Psychological readiness (Discussion of what it means to be psychologically ready to return to sport and how to assess an athlete's psychological readiness for return to sport)
15 minutes: Wrap up and questions
Course evaluation & post-test = 10 minutes (no CE/CEU credits)
